Volunteering with Interchange Inner East

Support from volunteers is highly valued – Volunteers are an integral part of the success of the organisation. In 2009/10, approximately 5,000 hours of volunteer support was contributed to Interchange Inner East.

Interchange provides respite services to families with children with disabilities. Interchange volunteers provide:

  • Direct assistance to children and families. Opportunities exist to host a child - negotiated to meet individual needs of families and volunteers. Supporting and participating in recreational activities including camps and weekend activities.
  • Professional skills and Governance. A range of exciting opportunities exist to join Interchange Inner East COM to support the development of this innovative respite service. Vacancies arise at our Annual General Meeting, usually in October each year. Possible opportunities may exist for the positions of President, Treasurer, Secretary and general members. A range of skills, knowledge and qualifications are required. We encourage your enquiry.
  • Occasional office support. As a not for profit community organisation, volunteer contribution adds enormous value to the day to day operational running of the service. Example of activities include mail outs, filing and support for general events. Volunteer commitment can be occasional, regular or event focused.
